Q: Does the eSIM need roaming?

Yes, if you use an eSIM for roaming, data roaming must be switched on in the phone or router. When connecting to the mobile network, an eSIM works just like an ordinary SIM card. If data roaming is switched off, the device may still show a connection to a mobile network, but the internet does not work properly. When you use our Europe eSIM, check that mobile data is switched on and that data roaming is enabled for that particular eSIM profile. If you have several SIMs or eSIMs in the phone, it is also important to check that the right eSIM is selected for mobile data. Follow the instructions on the device and scan the code when prompted. Remember that the QR code can normally only be used once and only for the first installation. So it is best to keep the email, but do not delete the eSIM profile from the device after installation. If you cannot find the email with the QR code, also check your spam folder. Avoid using up the eSIM profile Treat the QR code like an installation key. Install the profile on the device where it is actually going to be used, and do not delete a working profile unnecessarily. Can I move an eSIM like a plastic SIM?

No. An eSIM does not work like a physical SIM card and therefore cannot simply be moved between devices.

When you install an eSIM, it is activated digitally on that device, usually by scanning a QR code. The QR code can normally only be used once.

If you want to use the eSIM on another device, contact us first. We will then check what options there are for your eSIM.

A physical SIM card is easier to move between, for example, a phone and a router, as you simply take out the card and insert it in the new device.
