If the Hybrid Traveller does not detect the SIM card, first switch off the router and check that you are using a nano SIM, the smallest SIM card size.
Take out the SIM card and carefully insert it again the right way round. Never force the card in. Then restart the router and wait about a minute so that it can read the SIM card.
If you use your own SIM card that is not from Wifi.se, check that the SIM PIN is switched off. The easiest way is to insert the SIM card in a phone and switch off the SIM PIN in the phone’s settings.
You can also test the SIM card in a phone. Switch off Wi-Fi and check whether mobile data works. With a roaming SIM, data roaming must also be switched on.
If the SIM card works in the phone but the Hybrid Traveller still does not detect it, get in touch with us. We will help you with further troubleshooting.
Good to know about the Hybrid Traveller
The Hybrid Traveller receives the internet over 4G/5G and then shares the connection as its own Wi-Fi network. So two different things can affect the result: the mobile reception at the router and the Wi-Fi signal between the router and your devices. When you have problems, it is worth checking both separately.
