Hybrid Traveller is our self-developed portable 5G router, designed for those who want stable and flexible WiFi at home, in the motorhome, caravan, boat, holiday home or on the go.

The router is developed together with our own Web UI and app, where we have built in functions and components adapted for Hybrid Traveller. There you can see and manage network, WiFi, signal, battery status and other router settings in a simple way.

Hybrid Traveller supports both physical SIM card and eSIM and can connect multiple devices at the same time, such as mobile phones, tablets, computers and smart TVs.

The built-in battery provides up to approx 8 hours of battery life, which makes the router easy to bring and use even when you don’t have access to fixed power.

The router can be operated with both 12 V and 230 V, which makes it particularly practical in motorhomes, caravans, boats and other environments where 12-volt current is used.

Hybrid Traveller supports both 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz WiFi and is designed to give you a smooth internet connection both in Sweden and on the trip.

Yes. Hybrid Traveller supports both 5G and 4G.

The router automatically connects to the best available mobile network where you are.

Yes. Hybrid Traveller supports eSIM.

You can read our step-by-step eSIM setup guide here:

Install eSIM in Hybrid Traveller

Yes. Hybrid Traveller can be used with a regular physical SIM card.

Insert the SIM card into the router’s SIM slot and turn on the router.

Yes, Hybrid Traveller can be used with SIM cards from other operators, such as Telia, Telenor and Tele2.

Keep in mind that many SIM cards have a PIN code activated. Therefore, first insert the SIM card into a mobile phone and switch off the PIN code before inserting the card into the router.

Then insert the SIM card into SIM slot 1 in Hybrid Traveller and start the router.

If you are going to use the SIM card abroad, the subscription must also support roaming.

Our SIM cards do not have a PIN code, so you do not need to enter or disable any PIN code when the SIM card is used in Hybrid Traveller.

Insert the SIM card and turn on the router with the power button.

The router automatically searches for mobile networks and creates a WiFi network that you can connect your devices to.

Yes. Hybrid Traveller can update its software automatically when the router is started.

An update can take up to approx 10 minutes depending on the internet connection. The router may restart automatically during the update.

Do not turn off the router while the update is in progress.

If the signal indicator is red after an update, the router may need to be reset.

Hold down the RESET button for approx 30 seconds. The RESET hole sits next to the SIM slot.

Use a narrow tool, such as a SIM stick, and press gently as the button is a bit in.

Hold down the RESET button for approx 30 seconds.
The RESET hole sits next to the SIM slot. Use a thin tool, such as a SIM stick, and press gently.
ATTENTION! Never press the RESET button with any large or sharp object. Instead, use a SIM card pin/stick like you have when you take the SIM card out of a mobile phone.
The router will reboot and return to its default settings.

First test the SIM card in a mobile phone:

• Activate mobile data.
• Activate data roaming if the SIM card is used abroad.
• Turn off WiFi in the mobile phone.
• Check that the mobile phone receives internet via the SIM card.

If the SIM card works in the mobile, put it back in Hybrid Traveller and do a reset for about 30 seconds.

Connect your mobile, tablet or computer to Hybrid Traveller’s WiFi.

Then open a browser and enter the address that is on the router:

http://192.168.8.1/

Log in with:

User name: admin
Password: admin

There you can view and change the router’s settings, such as WiFi, network and other connection settings.

In the web interface, you can see network information, signal, connected devices and WiFi settings, among other things.

You can also make some advanced network settings.

Yes. You can use the app Hybrid Traveller Connect.

In the app, you can see battery status, 4G/5G information, network information, WiFi settings and manage certain eSIM functions, among other things.

Yes. Hybrid Traveller can use both 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz WiFi.

2.4 GHz has a longer range and often works better with, for example, TVs, heat pumps and older devices.

5 GHz normally provides higher speed over shorter distances.

We normally recommend 2.4GHz to TVs, streaming devices and other equipment that may have difficulty connecting to 5 GHz.

For mobile, computer and newer devices, 5 GHz can provide higher speed.

Yes. Hybrid Traveller can be used with many devices at the same time, for example mobiles, computers, tablets and TVs.

How many devices work well at the same time depends on signal strength, internet connection and what the devices are used for.

Yes. You can use Hybrid Traveller for streaming TV, movies and other internet services.

Keep in mind that streaming uses a lot of data. As a guideline, it can cost approx 1-3GB per hour depending on image quality and resolution.

Yes. Hybrid Traveller is made for travel and can be used in Europe with a compatible Europe SIM or eSIM.

Remember that data roaming must be activated when the SIM card is used abroad.

On Hybrid Traveller roaming is already enabled, so the router is ready to use with roaming SIM and eSIM even when travelling abroad.

It differs from many routers sold in Sweden, where roaming is often turned off by default and must be activated manually before the SIM card works abroad.

With Hybrid Traveller you therefore normally do not need to change any roaming settings yourself.

Yes. Hybrid Traveller supports VPN solutions and it is possible to use VPN together with the router.

For best performance, we normally recommend using the VPN directly on your mobile, computer, tablet or streaming device.

Yes, it is possible to use a VPN client in the router, for example via WireGuard.

Keep in mind that VPN directly in the router can reduce the speed because all traffic then goes through the VPN connection.

For streaming and regular use, we therefore often recommend VPN directly in the device where it is needed.

No, you normally do not get a Swedish IP address when you use a roaming SIM in Europe.

The IP address is controlled by the operator and the roaming solution and can therefore appear as, for example, Belgian, Spanish or from another European country.

If you need a Swedish IP address, you can use a VPN service with a Swedish server.

Yes. Most paid services and streaming services also work when you are in Europe.

Some Swedish services, for example certain content on SVT Play, may require a Swedish IP address. Then you need to use a VPN service with a Swedish server.

The Hybrid Traveller has a built-in battery that normally lasts approx 6-8 hours depending on signal strength, network, number of connected devices and usage.

Yes. The router can be used while it is connected to power.

Yes. The Hybrid Traveller is well suited for use in motorhomes, caravans and boats and can be used with 12 V power when the correct power adapter is used.

Yes. The Hybrid Traveller can be used with standard 230 V power via a compatible power adapter.

Hybrid Traveller uses internal antennas and is developed as a compact and portable 5G router.

The speed depends on several factors, including:

• mobile operator
• 4G or 5G coverage
• signal strength
• load on the mobile network
• location and distance to mobile tower
• number of connected devices

It is therefore normal that the speed may vary between different places and times of the day.

Hybrid Traveller selects the mobile network that is available and works best at the location.

If the 5G signal is weak or unavailable, the router can automatically connect to 4G.

Yes. In some situations, you can select the mobile network manually in the router’s settings.

Normally we recommend automatic network selection, but manual network selection can be useful if you have connection problems.

Try the following:

• Restart the router.
• Place the router near a window or in a place with a better signal.
• Check if the router uses 4G or 5G.
• Test the SIM card in a mobile phone.
• Make sure you’re not using a VPN that slows down your speed.
• Try another available mobile network if you are abroad.

Feel free to place the Hybrid Traveller high and near a window, especially in a motorhome, caravan or boat.

If possible, avoid placing the router behind thick walls, metal or other equipment that can affect the mobile signal.

If you can connect to Hybrid Traveller’s WiFi but can’t access the internet, the WiFi part is normally up and running, but the router lacks mobile data connectivity.

Verify:
• that the SIM or eSIM is active
• that the data package is active
• that data roaming is activated abroad
• that the router shows a mobile signal

Then test the SIM card in a mobile phone and, if necessary, reset the router.

First, check the router’s label or the information that came with the router.

If the WiFi settings have been changed and you can no longer connect, you can reset the router by holding the RESET button for about 30 seconds.

Yes. You can change the WiFi name and password through the Hybrid Traveller web interface.

Connect to the router and open:

http://192.168.8.1/

The MODE light shows the battery status.

Red: The battery is getting low and there are about 30 minutes of battery life left.
Blue: The battery is partially charged.
Green: The battery is fully charged.

No. The Hybrid Traveller has no external antenna connections.

Instead, the router has four built-in antennas that are adapted for 4G and 5G and provide good reception without an additional antenna.

Feel free to place the router as freely as possible, for example near a window and not locked in a cabinet, for the best possible signal.
