If the phone cannot find the router’s Wi-Fi, first check that the router is switched on and has fully started.
Try the following
- Switch the phone’s Wi-Fi off and on again.
- Restart the phone.
- Restart the router.
- Check that you are close to the router.
- After starting the router, wait about a minute before searching for the network again.
Check 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz
Some phones or other devices have trouble finding a particular Wi-Fi band.
If the router offers both 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz, check whether the phone finds either of the networks. With older devices, try 2.4 GHz first.
If the network still does not appear
Check whether Wi-Fi has been switched off in the router’s settings.
If you have previously changed the Wi-Fi name or other network settings, a factory reset can also help. Remember that a reset returns the Wi-Fi name, password and other settings of your own to the defaults.
