What is fair use or FUP?

Fair use or FUP (Fair Usage Policy) means that the operator has rules for using the service to avoid extreme or unusual load.

When roaming, for example, there can be limits on how much data you may use in a particular country or period. If an FUP limit is reached, the speed may be reduced, data traffic limited or special conditions may apply.

Which rules apply depends on the SIM card and the data plan. So always check the terms of the specific plan if you use a lot of data or are abroad for a long time.

How network selection works when roaming

When roaming, the device searches for available partner networks. Automatic network selection is normally the first choice, but if the connection does not work, manual network selection can be a good troubleshooting step. Remember: a network that appears in the list does not automatically mean that your SIM is allowed to register on it.

If it still does not work

Check the status of the service and then test one thing at a time. When you contact Wifi.se support, please tell us which router you are using, which SIM/eSIM it concerns, which country you are in and what you have already tested. That way we can start directly with the right troubleshooting step.
