Yes. If you only get 4G on the network the router chose automatically, another available partner network can sometimes give 5G.
This is because different operators have different 5G coverage and capacity in the same place. One network may only offer 4G where you are, while another has a good 5G signal.
So you can try manual network selection and test another operator.
To get 5G you of course also need a 5G router or another device with 5G support. Also, not all networks in the list are available for your roaming SIM.
How to test manual network selection
Normally leave network selection on Auto. If the internet does not work, you can search for available networks and try a partner network manually. Wait after each choice, as registration can take about a minute. When the test is finished, it is best to set network selection back to Auto so that the router can change network when needed.
How network selection works when roaming
When roaming, the device searches for available partner networks. Automatic network selection is normally the first choice, but if the connection does not work, manual network selection can be a good troubleshooting step. Remember: a network that appears in the list does not automatically mean that your SIM is allowed to register on it.
If it still does not work
Check the status of the service and then test one thing at a time. When you contact Wifi.se support, please tell us which router you are using, which SIM/eSIM it concerns, which country you are in and what you have already tested. That way we can start directly with the right troubleshooting step.
