The mobile network is the router’s connection to the operator’s 4G or 5G network. Wi-Fi is the connection between the router and your own devices.
So full Wi-Fi signal does not automatically mean that the internet works. The router may still lack a mobile connection or an active data service.
When troubleshooting, first work out whether the problem is between the device and the router, or between the router and the mobile network.
Tell Wi-Fi and the internet apart
Wi-Fi is the wireless link between your device and the router. The internet in turn reaches the router via the mobile network. A phone or TV can therefore be connected to Wi-Fi even when the router itself has no internet. This difference is important when troubleshooting.
If it still does not work
Check the status of the service and then test one thing at a time. When you contact Wifi.se support, please tell us which router you are using, which SIM/eSIM it concerns, which country you are in and what you have already tested. That way we can start directly with the right troubleshooting step.
