Can the router be kept in a cupboard?

Yes, but it is not the best place for the Hybrid Traveller.

A cupboard can weaken the mobile signal, especially if there is metal, thick walls or other electronics nearby. The router may then get poorer reception and lower speed.

For the best result we recommend placing the router as openly and as high up as possible, preferably near a window.

If the router has to be in a cupboard, it is best to test the connection both inside and outside the cupboard. Even a small change in placement can sometimes make a big difference.

Good to know about the Hybrid Traveller

The Hybrid Traveller receives the internet over 4G/5G and then shares the connection as its own Wi-Fi network. So two different things can affect the result: the mobile reception at the router and the Wi-Fi signal between the router and your devices. When you have problems, it is worth checking both separately.
