Yes. If the connection is slow, unstable or does not work at all, you can choose another mobile network manually in the router.
Open the router’s network settings and change network selection from Auto to Manual. The router then searches for available operators in the area.
Try another network and wait about a minute so that the router can register. Not all the networks shown work with your roaming SIM, as the SIM card can only use the operators included in the roaming agreement.
When you have finished testing, we normally recommend setting network selection back to Auto, especially if you are travelling on to a new area or country.
How to test manual network selection
Normally leave network selection on Auto. If the internet does not work, you can search for available networks and try a partner network manually. Wait after each choice, as registration can take about a minute. When the test is finished, it is best to set network selection back to Auto so that the router can change network when needed.
How network selection works when roaming
When roaming, the device searches for available partner networks. Automatic network selection is normally the first choice, but if the connection does not work, manual network selection can be a good troubleshooting step. Remember: a network that appears in the list does not automatically mean that your SIM is allowed to register on it.
If it still does not work
Check the status of the service and then test one thing at a time. When you contact Wifi.se support, please tell us which router you are using, which SIM/eSIM it concerns, which country you are in and what you have already tested. That way we can start directly with the right troubleshooting step.
