The APN is usually set automatically when the eSIM profile is installed, and you do not need to change anything yourself.
If the eSIM is active and has contact with the mobile network but the internet still does not work, it is worth checking the APN setting. The APN tells the phone or router how to connect to the operator’s data network.
Always use the APN that belongs to your eSIM and your data plan. Do not change the APN unnecessarily if the connection already works.
Also check that mobile data and data roaming are switched on and, if you have several SIMs or eSIMs in the phone, that the right eSIM is selected for mobile data.
What the APN does
APN stands for Access Point Name and tells the mobile network how the data connection should be set up. A wrong APN can mean that the router has a signal and registers on a mobile network but still has no internet.
The APN is normally filled in automatically. Only change it if a Wifi.se guide or support gives a specific value. After changing the APN you should save the setting and restart the data connection or the router.
Important with eSIM
An eSIM is a digital SIM profile and does not work quite like a plastic SIM. So do not delete the profile and do not scan the QR code with another device just to test it. A QR code may be intended for a single installation, and if the old profile is deleted, a new one may need to be ordered.
