No. 5 GHz and 5G are two completely different things.
5 GHz
5 GHz is a frequency band for Wi-Fi. It is used between the router and your devices, for example a phone, computer or smart TV.
Wi-Fi on 5 GHz often gives high speed over shorter distances.
5G
5G is the fifth generation of mobile networks. The router uses 5G to get its internet connection over the mobile network.
Put simply
5G = the router’s internet connection over the mobile network.
5 GHz = the Wi-Fi connection between the router and your devices.
So a 5G router can use both 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz for its Wi-Fi at the same time.
