How do I choose the operator manually?

If the connection is slow or does not work, you can choose another operator manually in the router.

Log in to the router’s settings and look for Mobile network, Network settings, Network Selection or similar. Change network selection from Auto/Automatic to Manual.

The router then searches for available mobile operators in the area. Choose an operator from the list and wait about a minute while the router tries to register on the network.

If the connection does not work or the speed is poor, try another operator. Not all networks in the list are available for your roaming SIM.

If you have found a network that works well, you can keep the manual choice. When you travel on, we normally recommend setting network selection back to Auto so that the router finds a new network itself in the next area or country.

How to test manual network selection

Normally leave network selection on Auto. If the internet does not work, you can search for available networks and try a partner network manually. Wait after each choice, as registration can take about a minute. When the test is finished, it is best to set network selection back to Auto so that the router can change network when needed.

How network selection works when roaming

When roaming, the device searches for available partner networks. Automatic network selection is normally the first choice, but if the connection does not work, manual network selection can be a good troubleshooting step. Remember: a network that appears in the list does not automatically mean that your SIM is allowed to register on it.

If it still does not work

Check the status of the service and then test one thing at a time. When you contact Wifi.se support, please tell us which router you are using, which SIM/eSIM it concerns, which country you are in and what you have already tested. That way we can start directly with the right troubleshooting step.
