Is this a portable router?
No. Performance 5G is primarily designed for a fixed installation together with the external roof antenna.
If you instead want a less portable solution without a fixed roof antenna, we recommend the Hybrid Traveller 5G.
Does the router fit in motorhomes and caravans?
Yes. The system is specially developed for motorhomes, caravans and campervans.
The router can be powered directly from the vehicle’s 12 V system and the external roof antenna provides better conditions for reception than a router that only uses antennas inside the vehicle.
Can I use it in a boat?
Yes. Performance 5G is also suitable for boats.
The roof antenna is IP68 rated and designed for permanent outdoor installation.
Can I use the router in a holiday home?
Yes. The router can also be used in holiday homes, cottages or other places where you want to get internet via the mobile network.
You need a SIM card with mobile data and mobile coverage at the location.
Why does the router have an external roof antenna?
An external roof antenna is placed outside the vehicle’s walls and roof and therefore has better conditions for receiving the signal from the mobile network.
It’s especially valuable in motorhomes and caravans where insulation, aluminium and other materials can dampen cell and WiFi signals.
Which networks does the roof antenna work with?
The roof antenna is designed for mobile communication and works with 2G, 3G, 4G and 5G.
The router primarily uses 5G or 4G depending on which network is available where you are.
How many cables does the roof antenna have?
The roof antenna has a total of six antenna cables.
Four are used for the mobile network/5G and two are used for WiFi.
All antenna cables must be connected to the correct antenna port on the router for best performance.
Do all six antenna cables have to be connected?
Yes, we recommend that all antenna cables are connected according to the installation instructions.
Four cables are used for the mobile network and two are used for WiFi.
This allows the router to use the antenna system in the way it was designed for.
How big is the roof antenna?
The roof antenna is approximately 19 cm in diameter and approximately 5 cm high.
It has an approximately 60 mm long mounting screw for passing through the roof.
Do I have to make holes in the ceiling?
In a normal fixed installation, the antenna is mounted through the roof, which means that a penetration needs to be made.
Always check the construction of the roof before installation and be careful with the seal around the penetration.
If you are unsure, we recommend that the installation be carried out by a specialist or motorhome workshop.
Where should the roof antenna be placed?
Place the antenna as freely as possible on the roof.
If possible, avoid mounting it directly next to large metal objects, solar panels, roof boxes or other equipment that can affect the signal.
Also think about how the antenna cables should be pulled down to the router before making the transition.
Is the roof antenna waterproof?
The roof antenna is IP68 rated and is designed for outdoor use.
However, it is important that the passage itself through the roof of the vehicle is mounted and sealed correctly.
Can I use the router without the roof antenna?
The router can technically be used with compatible antennas, but the package is designed and optimised to be used together with the included roof antenna.
For the best reception and WiFi, we therefore recommend that the entire antenna system be used.
Can I connect other external antennas?
Yes, the router uses external antenna connections and can technically be used with other compatible antennas.
The performance package, on the other hand, has been developed and tested together with the included 5G roof antenna, which is the solution we recommend.
Do I need a SIM card?
Yes. The router needs a physical SIM card with mobile data to connect to the mobile network.
You can use a compatible SIM from Wifi.se or from another operator.
Is a SIM card included?
SIM cards are not included as standard in the router package itself unless explicitly stated in the current offer.
SIM and data packages can be ordered separately from Wifi.se.
Does the router have eSIM?
No. Performance 5G uses physical SIM cards.
If you want to use eSIM, we recommend a router with built-in eSIM support, for example Hybrid Traveller 5G.
How many SIM cards can I use?
The router has two physical SIM slots.
It makes it possible to have two SIM cards installed at the same time, for example a Sweden SIM and a Europe SIM.
Can I have a Sweden SIM and a Europe SIM in the router at the same time?
Yes. The router has dual SIM slots, so you can, for example, have a Sweden SIM in one slot and a roaming SIM for Europe in the other.
Which SIM to use is selected in the router’s settings.

Yes. The router is not locked to Wifi.se.
You can use compatible SIM cards from other operators, provided that the SIM card and the subscription allow use in a router.
Does the router work abroad?
Yes. Performance 5G is configured for roaming and can be used abroad with a SIM card that supports roaming.
Which countries are included depends on the SIM card and data package you use.
Do I need to turn on roaming in the router?
Routers shipped configured by Wifi.se are ready for roaming.
This means that you normally do not need to change the roaming setting when using a compatible Europe SIM.
Can I travel through several European countries without changing settings?
Yes, if you use a roaming SIM valid in the countries you visit.
The router then connects to an available mobile network in the respective country.
Does 5G work everywhere?
No. 5G coverage varies between different operators, countries and geographical areas.
If 5G is not available, the router can instead connect to 4G where there is coverage.
What if there is no 5G where I am?
The router can use 4G when 5G is not available.
You therefore normally do not need to make any changes yourself when you move between areas with different coverage.
What speed can I get?
The speed depends on, among other things, the operator, coverage, distance to the mobile mast, load on the network, which frequency band is used and where you are.
The router supports very high 5G speeds, but the actual speed can therefore vary greatly between different locations.
Why am I not getting the same speed everywhere?
Mobile internet connection is affected by many factors.
Inter alia:
• Distance to the mobile tower
• The operator’s network
• 4G or 5G coverage
• Number of users on the same mast
• Terrain and buildings
• Which frequency bands are available at the location
It is therefore normal for the speed to change as you travel.
Does the router have both 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz WiFi?
Yes. Performance 5G has dual-band WiFi and can use both 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz.
2.4 GHz normally provides longer range while 5 GHz can provide higher speed over shorter distances.
What is the difference between 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz WiFi?
2.4 GHz normally has a longer range and often works better through walls.
5 GHz can provide higher WiFi speed but has a shorter range.
TVs, smart devices and older products may sometimes only support 2.4 GHz.
Which WiFi should I connect the TV to?
If the TV has problems finding or connecting to 5 GHz, we recommend using the 2.4 GHz network.
2.4GHz also works with more older TVs and streaming devices.
How far does the WiFi signal go?
Range varies depending on installation, surroundings, walls, other WiFi networks and interference.
The external WiFi antenna on the roof can provide coverage both inside and around the vehicle.
In good conditions, the WiFi signal can reach far outside the vehicle, but an exact range cannot be guaranteed.
Can I use WiFi outside the motorhome or caravan?
Yes. Two of the antenna cables in the roof antenna are used for WiFi, which helps spread the WiFi signal even outside the vehicle.
The actual range depends on the surroundings and any interference.
How many devices can be connected to the router?
The router is built for significantly more demanding use than a regular mobile hotspot and can handle several connected devices at the same time.
For example, mobile phones, tablets, computers, TVs, streaming devices and smart products.
Can I stream TV with the router?
Yes. You can use the internet connection for, for example, streaming via Apple TV, Google TV, Chromecast, Xiaomi TV Stick, Smart TV and similar products.
Keep in mind that streaming can use a relatively large amount of data.
Can I work remotely via the router?
Yes. Performance 5G is well suited for remote work and can be used for, for example, video meetings, VPN, e-mail and cloud services.
The actual quality depends on the coverage and capacity of the mobile network where you are.
Does the router have network ports?
Yes. The router has five Gigabit Ethernet ports.
This allows you to connect, for example, a computer, TV, network switch or other network equipment directly with a network cable.
Is network cable better than WiFi?
For stationary equipment, network cable can provide a very stable connection.
If, for example, a TV or computer is close to the router, Ethernet can therefore be a good alternative to WiFi.
Can the router be powered by 12 volts?
Yes. The router can be powered from the vehicle’s electrical system.
The package contains both cable for fixed 12 V installation and cable for connection to vehicle socket.
The router has a wide input voltage range of 9–50 V DC. :contentReference[oaicite:1]{index=1}

What do I do if the router does not get internet?
Start by checking:
1. That the router has power.
2. That the SIM card is seated correctly.
3. That all 5G/LTE antenna cables are connected.
4. That the SIM card has active surfing.
5. That you are within the coverage of the mobile network.
Then restart the router and wait a few minutes.
How do I test if the problem is with the SIM card or the router?
Remove the SIM card from the router and test it in a mobile phone.
Turn off WiFi on the mobile and activate mobile data. If the SIM card is to be used abroad, data roaming must also be activated.
If the internet works in the mobile, you know that the SIM card and the data package are working.
Then put the SIM card back in the router and restart it.
What do I do if the router works in Sweden but not abroad?
First, check that your SIM card and data package are valid in the country where you are located.
Then test the SIM card in a mobile phone with:
• Mobile data on
• Data roaming on
• WiFi off
If the SIM card works in the mobile, put it back in the router and restart the router.
What do I do if the router only gets 4G and not 5G?
It doesn’t necessarily mean something is wrong.
The router selects networks according to the coverage and frequencies available at the location. If the 5G signal is not available or good enough, the router can use 4G instead.
If you move to an area with better 5G coverage, the router can automatically connect to 5G again.
Why is the internet slow even though the router shows 5G?
The 5G symbol itself does not guarantee a certain speed.
The speed is affected, among other things, by the load on the mobile tower, frequency band, signal strength, operator, location and how the network is developed.
Feel free to test the speed at different times of the day.
Why does the internet work well in one place but worse in another?
Performance 5G uses the mobile network, and conditions change when you move.
Different locations can use different cell masts, frequency bands and operator networks.
It is therefore normal for both signal and speed to vary during the journey.
What do I do if WiFi works but I don’t have internet?
If you can connect to the router’s WiFi but can’t get online, the local WiFi network is working, but the router probably hasn’t connected to the cellular network.
Check SIM card, data package, mobile signal and antenna connections.
Then restart the router.
What do I do if I can’t find the router’s WiFi?
First, check that the router is turned on and has booted up.
Then try to:
• Turn WiFi off and on on the mobile.
• Search for the WiFi network again.
• Restart the router.
• Test with another mobile, tablet or computer.

However, since the roof antenna is normally permanently mounted, you need to move the antenna or install a compatible antenna on the new vehicle.
Can I use the router at home between trips?
Yes.
Connect the router to the 230 V adapter and use it just like a normal mobile broadband, provided the SIM card has coverage and active data.
Can I use the router while driving?
Yes. The system is designed for vehicles and can be used while driving.
When you move, the router can switch between different cell towers and networks, which can sometimes cause short interruptions in the connection.
Do I need to restart the router when I cross a country border?
Normally not.
The router should automatically search for an available roaming network when you enter a new country.
If it doesn’t connect after a few minutes, a reboot may help.
Can I use the same router throughout Europe?
Yes. The router itself can be used in various European countries.
What determines where you have internet is above all which SIM card and data package you use and which countries are covered by its roaming.
Which router should I choose – Performance 5G or Hybrid Traveller 5G?
Performance 5G is best suited if you want a fixed installation with external 5G roof antenna, Ethernet ports and a more advanced router solution.
The Hybrid Traveller 5G is more suitable if you want a compact and portable router that is easy to take between different locations and does not require a fixed roof antenna.
