A roaming SIM is a SIM card that can be used in several countries and can connect to different mobile operators’ networks.
It is a good fit if, for example, you travel by motorhome, caravan or boat and want to use the same SIM card when you go from one country to the next.
How does it work?
When you arrive in a new country, the SIM card searches for an available mobile network and connects to a local operator.
For this to work:
- the SIM card must have an active data package
- roaming must be switched on in the router
- the router must support roaming
- there must be mobile coverage where you are
Our Europe roaming SIMs
Our Europe data packages are normally valid for 30 days and are available with different amounts of data, depending on how much you need on your trip.
That way you do not have to buy a new local SIM card in every country.
Keep in mind
A roaming SIM does not always give a Swedish IP address. This can affect some Swedish streaming services abroad. In such cases a VPN service may sometimes be needed.
Good to know about the roaming SIM
A roaming SIM connects to partner operators in the countries included in the package. Which mobile network is used can therefore vary from place to place. Data roaming normally needs to be switched on, and in some situations manual network selection can help if the automatic choice has got stuck on a weak or unavailable network.
