Only change advanced settings when needed. The APN controls how the SIM connects to the internet, and the firmware is the router’s internal software. Note the firmware and app version when troubleshooting and follow Wifi.se’s guide for updates.
When troubleshooting, it is best to change only one thing at a time. That makes it easier to see which step actually solves the problem.
Do not change more than necessary
Router settings such as APN, DNS, network mode and VPN can affect the whole internet connection. So change one setting at a time and note the original value before you change anything. Then you can easily go back if the result gets worse.
If it still does not work
Check the status of the service and then test one thing at a time. When you contact Wifi.se support, please tell us which router you are using, which SIM/eSIM it concerns, which country you are in and what you have already tested. That way we can start directly with the right troubleshooting step.
