Yes, a roaming SIM can give 5G if 5G is available and the local operator allows 5G roaming.
To use 5G you also need a 5G router or another device that supports 5G. With a 4G router the connection only uses 4G, even if the SIM card and mobile network support 5G.
If you travel in Europe and want to use the internet, we strongly recommend a 5G router. In many parts of Europe 5G is almost a must today if you want a stable and fast connection, especially for streaming, work and several devices connected at once.
The speed can still vary depending on the country, local operator, coverage, network load and the router used.
Good to know about the roaming SIM
A roaming SIM connects to partner operators in the countries included in the package. Which mobile network is used can therefore vary from place to place. Data roaming normally needs to be switched on, and in some situations manual network selection can help if the automatic choice has got stuck on a weak or unavailable network.
