The Elmia fair in Jönköping has been canceled.

The Elmia fair in Jönköping for 2020 has been canceled due to the Covid-19 pandemic. The organizers have stated the following:

“Health and safety have always been the highest priority for Elmia, both for our exhibitors, visitors, and employees. On March 11, the WHO assessed COVID-19 as a pandemic. The Public Health Agency of Sweden currently assesses the risk of widespread transmission in Sweden as very high. At the request of the authorities on March 27, the Swedish government made the decision that gatherings of more than 50 people should not be allowed in Sweden. Elmia is following this decision.”

As a result, Elmia Husvagn Husbil in Jönköping has been postponed. After careful consideration and in dialogue with the Swedish Caravan Industry Association and our partners at the Caravan Club of Sweden, as well as various exhibitors and visitors, the next Elmia Husvagn Husbil will take place from September 8–12, 2021. To prevent the spread of infection, Elmia has introduced the following measures:

• Signage and instructions on general preventive actions.
• Instructions for safe handwashing and hand sanitizers in our restrooms.
• Hand sanitizers at information desks and other stations in the buildings.
• More frequent cleaning of public areas.

Elmia is the largest caravan and motorhome fair in the Nordics, where almost all industry actors gather in one place. Here, visitors can test, feel, and compare all the industry brands and next year’s models. It’s a place for people to meet, find inspiration, explore products, innovations, and enjoy activities for the whole family. In the evenings, Oktoberfest, dance nights, cinema, and much more await. It’s the place for anyone who loves to be on the move.

Many are wondering what alternatives there are now that Elmia’s fair in Jönköping has been canceled. “Big fairs require long planning, which unfortunately doesn’t give us other options,” says Lotta Frenssen, CEO of Elmia, to Jönköpingsposten.
