No. With the Hybrid Traveller you normally do not need to drill any holes in the roof of the motorhome or caravan.
The router has built-in antennas and is designed to work without an external roof antenna. That makes setup much easier: you place the router somewhere with good reception and connect the power.
For the best signal we recommend placing the router as openly and as high up as possible, preferably near a window.
This is a big advantage over solutions that need a permanently mounted roof antenna, cable routing and drilling in the vehicle.
The Hybrid Traveller has powerful built-in antennas and is built for use without an external antenna. An external roof antenna therefore cannot be connected or installed. So you do not need to run antenna cables or drill holes in the roof of the motorhome or caravan.
For the best possible reception we instead recommend placing the Hybrid Traveller somewhere as open as possible, preferably near a window. If possible, avoid placing the router low down, in a cupboard or behind thick walls and metal, as this can weaken mobile reception.
As the router is portable, you can easily try different placements and see where you get the best signal. Often even a small change in placement improves both speed and stability.
