Yes. Metal in the structure of the motorhome or caravan can affect the mobile signal and weaken reception inside the vehicle.
How strong the effect is depends on, among other things, how the vehicle is built, the insulation, the windows and where the router is placed.
Try a different placement
If the signal is weak, you can try placing the Hybrid Traveller:
- near a window
- higher up in the motorhome
- on another side of the vehicle
- a little away from larger metal surfaces and other electronic devices
Often even a small change in placement gives a better signal.
Test the signal outside the motorhome
If you are not sure whether the motorhome itself is weakening the signal, you can temporarily test the router near an open door or outside the vehicle.
If the signal is clearly better there, the motorhome’s construction is affecting reception.
The Hybrid Traveller is portable, so you can easily try different placements at every campsite and place and find the best signal.
