The study “Svenskarna och internet” was released on October 15th by the Internet Foundation in Sweden. It is a study conducted every year since 2000.
We have picked up a few key points from the 166-page study:
- The development and access to the internet for Swedish households remains stable at 98%.
- At the same time, 95% of the Swedish population reports using the internet.
- Access to fiber has increased, and the report shows a significant rise especially in rural areas, with an increase in mobile broadband as well.
- 60% believe the time spent on news apps is meaningful.
- 40% feel their time on social media is not meaningful.
- The number of social media users has leveled off, and fewer people post or share others’ posts on Facebook.
- Use of podcasts and audiobooks has increased.
- More people are choosing to pay for films and music online.
- 7 out of 10 of our oldest population groups now use the internet.
- 1 million people do not use the internet daily, and 19% of them find the technology too complicated.
We are of course curious about your internet usage as caravan, motorhome, transport vehicle, boat, and second home owners – how do you use the internet, and what do you prefer to spend your time on? Feel free to leave comments.
