MOBILE 4G ROUTER WITH BUILT-IN DATA POOL AND WIFI FROM WIFI.SE

It is true that when you want to take a break, the idea is to rest your body and mind and just try to recharge your batteries. Our everyday life is filled with work, family, hobbies, and much more. When we are on vacation, we truly want to let our mind and body relax. That’s how I function, at least. But today, our society is heavily reliant on digital communication. Sometimes, despite being on vacation, we need to take care of tasks like paying bills or ordering services. We also stay connected through our smartphones and computers, often planning our free time using digital tools.
Even though we want to focus on resting and experiencing new things while traveling with our caravans, motorhomes, or to a cabin, we sometimes need to be connected. In some places, though, we may experience extremely poor coverage. It can be frustrating, especially when you think that in this modern era, it seems strange that we can’t get a good connection everywhere in our wonderful country or continent.
Personally, I often stay by the coast in Halland, sitting in a beach hut and enjoying being disconnected. But sometimes, I need a good connection anyway. It might be for checking something related to work, looking for places to explore nearby, finding out when the grocery store opens on a Sunday, or simply watching a movie when the rain is pouring outside. It’s frustrating when, no matter how new your phone or computer is, there is no good coverage for mobile broadband.

Can a router be the solution?
Therefore, I tried a 4G mobile router with wifi, which according to the supplier, should offer a considerably better connection than what you can get through, for example, your smartphone. Since the router has built-in wireless wifi, several people can also connect to it and share the connection. After a few days in my small cabin, and actually even on my way home through the forests, I can confirm that it actually provides really good connection and performance. The 4G offers speeds of up to 50 Mbps, and I maintained a steady 35 Mbps, which was enough for both browsing on my computer and streaming various events via my iPad. It’s also wireless, so several people in the cabin/car can connect to it and get a stable connection, even though the coverage in these areas is generally poor.
This is made possible by a couple of antenna amplifiers connected to the router, which ensures a stable connection via the 4G network. The router itself is not difficult to install, as there are basically three ports: one for power and two for antennas. The router comes with various power options; you can use regular wall power, temporarily use it in the car, or permanently install it in a motorhome or caravan.
You can also choose the type of subscription you want, or rather the data pool you want for your router. 100, 250, or 500 Gigabytes. The subscription is primarily for Sweden, but it also works in other EU countries, although it uses roaming. You can easily add a roaming package that lasts for 30 days, ensuring you stay connected during your trip abroad!
After using the router for some time, I can honestly say that I am extremely satisfied, and I can’t imagine being without it. I will definitely bring it with me to my cabin or take it with me on future trips. Why not take it to the mountains, where coverage can sometimes be tough, and after a whole day of hiking, you want to stream a good movie by the firelight.
Happy Holidays from Micke Öhrn. See you in 2020!
