TP-Link is a router with a built-in 4G modem that makes it easy to share your mobile connection wirelessly with other devices. You can connect all your devices, such as phones, computers, and tablets, to the router, wherever you are, thanks to the 4G connection and a powerful built-in battery.<\/p>\n

However, there is a problem when you bring your TP-Link router abroad. All TP-Link routers are locked for roaming, which means that no matter which SIM card you have, the connection won\u2019t work.<\/p>\n

There may also be other reasons why your TP-Link router doesn\u2019t work abroad. Try changing the Type filtering to 4G and check that the 4G router has registered to the mobile network. You can save the log file from the 4G router to your computer by clicking the Save Log button. If the 4G router has connected and been assigned an IP address, there may be a problem with the DNS. Log in to the web interface.<\/p>\n

When it comes to your TP-Link router being locked for roaming abroad, there is a way to fix this. When you have your TP-Link router abroad, you can access the router and enable roaming. All TP-Link routers are locked for roaming. This means your Wi-Fi will stop working when you are outside Sweden’s borders, as no SIM card will work abroad with this router. However, you can unlock this restriction by accessing the router and enabling roaming, just like you can with your phone.<\/p>\n

To unlock your TP-Link router abroad for roaming, follow these steps:<\/p>\n

A) Activate data roaming via the tpMiFi app<\/strong><\/p>\n

  • Click the icon with three horizontal lines in the top left corner<\/li>\n
  • Click on “Network”<\/li>\n
  • Enable data roaming<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    B) Activate via the web administration interface<\/strong><\/p>\n

    • Log in to the web administration interface and click on the “Advanced” tab.<\/li>\n
    • Click on “Dial-up” in the menu on the left and then click on “Dial-up settings.”<\/li>\n
    • Enable data roaming and save the changes.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
