Personal data we process about you – Refers to car dealerships, workshops, tire hotels, and other service companies within the automotive industry that are members of MRF. The personal data we process includes information you have provided to us or that we have collected from you or a third party.

Personal data you have provided to us: When you enter into an agreement with us as a customer, you will provide certain information about yourself. The information you provide may include your name, the registration number of your vehicle, your personal ID number, your customer number, your car owner number, your contact and address details, and your card number. We may also process other personal data about you that you provide to us as a customer.

Personal data we have collected from you or a third party: When you submit a vehicle to us for service or repair, we may collect the registration number and information stored in the vehicle’s computer. This information is primarily of a technical nature, such as error codes and service history related to your vehicle. We may also collect data on completed diagnostics and work performed, including any products repaired, replaced, or installed.

When you enter into an agreement for the purchase of a vehicle or service with us, we may also collect information about your purchase, service or repair, payment, and information about the vehicle’s chassis number, or VIN number.

We may also process your personal data that we access through searches in the Swedish Transport Agency’s road traffic register, primarily contact information and registration numbers.

The above personal data may also be processed if someone else submits your vehicle to us for repair or service on your behalf. If you submit a vehicle owned by someone else or as a representative of a company, we process your name and contact details.

Purpose and legal basis for processing your personal data – For the following purposes, we process your personal data to fulfill our agreement or take measures at your request before an agreement is concluded:

  • If you, as a customer or representative of a company, make a purchase, submit a vehicle for service or repair, if we purchase a vehicle from you, or enter into a tire hotel agreement, we process your name, personal ID number, vehicle registration number or other identification number, customer number, car owner number, contact and address details, and card number to administer our customer relationship, including your payment.
  • If you request a quote from us, we process your name, contact information, and quote details during the validity period of the quote to follow up and take measures at your request before a potential agreement is concluded.
  • To handle potential complaints or fulfill warranty obligations, we process your name, contact information, registration number, purchase information, diagnostics, and work performed.
  • To verify your identity and conduct credit checks if required, we process your name, personal ID number, and financial information.
  • If you test drive a vehicle, we process your name, contact information, driver’s license, and personal ID number to ensure identity, check licenses, and manage any fees or costs arising from the test drive.
