Frequently Asked Questions
Below you will find the most common questions we answer.
Click the link below to register and select a data plan (200GB/400GB) and the number of months you want (1–6). The SIM card will then be activated.
https://wifi.se/aktivera-sim/
Activation occurs Monday–Friday 9:00 AM–5:00 PM and once a day at 11:00 AM on Saturdays and Sundays. On weekdays, the normal activation time is 2–3 hours.
Note that activation only occurs once a day on weekends, so if you activate after 11:00 AM on a Saturday or Sunday, the SIM card will not be activated until the next day.
Once your SIM card has been activated, we will send you an email to confirm your connection.
- Start by inserting your SIM card into a mobile phone (not a router), restart the phone. Enable roaming and data, and disable WiFi.
Once you have a signal and are connected to a network, the SIM card is active. You can now use the card in your phone, router, or other connected devices to access the internet. - Now that we know the card works, insert it into a router (use SIM1 if there are multiple SIM card slots). It should now work perfectly.
- If you still do not have internet, reset your router.
– Hold the reset button for at least 15 seconds, or until all lights turn off and then turn on again.
– Wait 5 minutes and restart your router.

If it does not work to browse abroad with your mobile broadband, it is likely that data roaming is not enabled in the router. Most routers, such as TP-Link, Netgear, Huawei, ZTE, D-Link, Alcatel, and Asus, are disabled for roaming by default and need to be unlocked through the router’s software. (This does not apply if you purchased a router from us. All our routers are open for roaming.)
If it worked in Sweden but stops working when you go abroad, this is likely the problem. Contact the store where you purchased the router or the support for the router brand you have. Unfortunately, we cannot help you if you did not purchase the router from us since there are hundreds of different models, and they all work differently.
The following steps below usually work and are relatively standard. (Works for TP-Link)
- Log into the router’s interface
You do this by entering the IP address in a web browser and then filling in the username and password for the router. (This is usually found on the back, under the router, or in the router’s manual). Otherwise, we recommend Googling how to enable data roaming for your specific router. - Go to Network Settings
- Select Internet Connection
- Enable Data Roaming
Our Europe SIM cards take a little longer to activate compared to Swedish cards, which usually take less than 5 minutes.
This is completely normal and is because our partner has a longer activation process, so it can take 2–3 hours before the card becomes active.
It is also important to remember that activation only occurs between 9:00 AM–5:00 PM on weekdays and at 11:00 AM on weekends.
If there is an issue with your Netgear router, such as it not working abroad, call Netgear’s technical support for help at 0770-930033.

Our SIM cards are delivered in all sizes: original, nano, and micro. Thus, our cards are compatible with all devices.
The first thing to do is restart the router. You do this by turning off the power and then turning it back on. If this does not help, you may need to reset it. This means resetting the router to its original settings as when the router was new. The reset button can be located on the front or back of the router and is labeled “reset.” Often, you will need a paperclip or the included SIM pin. Hold the button for 10 seconds, release for 2 seconds, hold for 10 seconds again, and then wait 5 minutes until all lights turn green. Unplug the power and plug it back in. Then wait 2 minutes.
The router has now been reset, and all original settings are restored. If you changed login details, WiFi network name, etc., these will revert to default settings. These can usually be found on the back of the router.
You can find information on how to unlock roaming on your TP-Link router at the following link:
All TP-Link routers are blocked for roaming. This means your WiFi will stop working when you are outside Sweden’s borders, as no Swedish SIM card works abroad with this router. However, you can unlock this block by entering the router’s interface and enabling roaming, just as you can with your phone.
Information on how to unlock the block can be found on TP-Link’s website:
To log in to the router’s admin interface, you need a phone, tablet, or computer connected to the router’s wireless network. Information about the wireless network and how to connect is displayed on the screen on the front of the router.

What is the coverage in your area? Use Telenor’s coverage map to find out! Here you can see the estimated coverage in locations across Sweden:
Instructions for specific routers with or without roof antennas can be found in a separate help section. You can install the router yourself or have it installed by a technician. To simplify the installation, it is delivered tested and ready with a SIM card inserted into the router (if purchased with a SIM card), making it ready to use. Supply power and attach the antennas. The router operates on 9/30 volts and 230 volts, depending on the router model. We deliver our vehicle router packages (WiFi PRO and WiFi Extreme) with three cables: a 12-volt cable for the so-called vehicle outlet (cigarette lighter outlet), a 12-volt cable to connect to the battery (living area battery), and a 230-volt cable. The router should be installed securely and in a dry place. Patch antennas should preferably be mounted in a high location, as the mobile signal comes from above.
The following countries and/or geographical territories are included in our EU/EES zone:
Belgium, Bulgaria, Cyprus, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Gibraltar, Greece, French Caribbean, Ireland, Iceland, Italy, Croatia, Latvia, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Martinique, Monaco, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Great Britain, Sweden, Czech Republic, Germany, Hungary, Austria, Vatican City.
The Europe package can be used in all countries included in the EU/EES. In all other countries, the internet automatically stops working, such as in Andorra, Monaco, and Switzerland. You do not need to worry about being charged afterward; the internet automatically stops working in these countries.
We have two types of SIM cards:
Our 12-month data cards offer 100 Gigabytes, 250 Gigabytes, 500 Gigabytes, and 1000 Gigabytes. If the package runs out, you can always purchase more data at the same price. These SIM cards are annual and not subscription-based.

If you purchase a card and activate it, for example, on April 1, 2022, the data is valid until April 1, 2023. If you have remaining data after 365 days, that data is unfortunately lost.
If you purchase additional data for the existing card that was activated on April 1, 2022, before the data expires, for example, on August 5, 2022, the new data will be valid until August 5, 2023. If you still have remaining data and refill before the expiration date, the remaining data will not be lost and can be used until April 1, 2023. The new data is added to the existing data.

Wifi.se has fast delivery times. If the order is placed before 12:00 PM Monday–Friday, we usually ship the same day. Otherwise, it is shipped the next business day. We reserve the right for items that may temporarily be out of stock.
We ship routers with accessories via Postnord My Pack Collect, which means the package will be delivered to your nearest pick-up point. This usually takes 1–2 days.
Orders with only SIM cards are sent via Postnord mail. In some areas in Sweden, mail is delivered every other day, which may cause a slight delay. If you are in a hurry, we recommend selecting the option for the SIM card to be sent to a pick-up point, which is the safest and fastest method and usually takes 1–2 days.
The easiest way to refill data is to place an order on our website or log in to “My Pages.” You can also contact us, and we will help you refill your data.
Our Europe roaming SIM is valid in the EU, Norway, and the UK. Our Europe SIM does not have a Swedish IP address. To have a Swedish IP abroad, we will soon offer you our new VPN service.
The fastest refill option is to choose the Swish alternative in our webshop. Swish to: 1233170495. You can also choose direct bank transfer or purchase via Klarna. Use your name or order ID as a payment reference. If you choose direct bank transfer, it may take 1–2 days. Your order is shipped only after the funds are credited to our account.

With our new 5G routers, you can achieve speeds of up to 700 Mbps when connected to a 5G network. However, the speed depends significantly on your distance from the operator’s mast. It is common to have well over 200 Mbps even far outside major cities if you have the right hardware, such as a good 5G router and a roof antenna. The difference compared to 4G networks, which have become much more saturated over the last two years, is significant.
If you want to be certain of streaming and using your internet like at home, you should invest in 5G equipment. You can view our selection here: https://wifi.se/en/product-category/router/
You can purchase it from us in our webshop or from one of our resellers.
We offer two types of SIM cards:
For our Swedish 12-month data cards, we offer 100 GB, 500 GB, and 1000 GB. The data you purchase is valid for 365 days. If you run out of data, you can purchase more at the same price at any time. These SIM cards are annual-based and have no costs other than for the data amount you purchase. No monthly or hidden fees.
Our Europe roaming SIM cards are monthly-based, and you can choose between 200 GB and 400 GB of data per month. You can order them for 1–6 months. If you need them for more than 6 months, you can extend them before they expire. For more information, visit: https://wifi.se/en/product-category/sim-kort/
